- 30g unsalted butter
- 80g granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 125g pecan halves
- 190g unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 280g brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp kosher salt
- 115g unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 225g cream cheese, at room temperature
- 250g powdered sugar, sifted
- 1–2 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine lukewarm milk and granulated sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
- Add eggs, kosher salt, flour, and softened butter to form a dough; knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for about an hour.
- Cook diced apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cornstarch until tender; stir in pecans.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon mix.
- Add the apple filling; roll tightly and cut into pieces.
- Let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Prepare cream cheese frosting while rolls are baking and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
