- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 5 oz dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa, melted)
- 1 cup heavy cream (whipped)
- Chocolate shavings (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and softened butter until smooth. Stir in melted chocolate.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide batter into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold into remaining melted chocolate to make the mousse.
- Layer one cake with half the mousse, top with the second layer, and spread remaining mousse on top. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
