- 1 to 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup cooking sake (or rice vinegar)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 inch ginger (peeled and coarsely diced)
- 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 dashes black pepper powder
- white sesame for garnish
- 1 scallion (cut into strips) for garnish
Instructions
- Clean and pat dry chicken wings.
- In a mixing bowl, combine marinade ingredients (soy sauce, sake, sesame oil, ginger, black pepper) and add wings. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (207°C).
- Prepare the glaze by heating honey, soy sauce, and mirin in a saucepan until thickened.
- Place marinated wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes.
- Brush half of the glaze on wings; bake another 10 minutes.
- Apply remaining glaze and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
