Ingredients

  • 8 cups water (divided)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water, rinsed hibiscus flowers, and sugar to a boil over high heat.
  2. Cover and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  4. Strain out the hibiscus flowers using a colander (save them for candied treats).
  5. Add the remaining 4 cups of water to the mixture.
  6. Stir well and chill in the refrigerator.
  7. Serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
