  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 28 ounce can fire roasted crushed tomatoes
  • 15 ounce can kidney beans; rinsed and drained
  • 15 ounce can black beans; rinsed and drained
  • 15 ounce can pinto beans; rinsed and drained

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic; sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  2. Stir in ground turkey, cooking until completely browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato paste; mix well.
  4. Pour in beef broth, crushed tomatoes, and all three types of beans. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
