- 450g lean ground beef
- 30g butter
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 230g brown mushrooms, minced
- 240ml beef broth
- 30g ketchup
- 15g Worcestershire sauce
- 225g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
- 6 brioche chicken hamburger buns
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef without stirring for about 1 minute. Break it up with a spatula and cook until fully seared. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onions, bell peppers, and minced mushrooms; sauté until browned and tender.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together beef broth, cornstarch, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well blended.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with vegetables and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
- Return cooked beef to the skillet and stir to combine. Fold in provolone cheese until melted and creamy.
- Butter each brioche bun lightly and toast them in another skillet until golden brown.
- Fill each toasted bun generously with the cheesy beef mixture and serve immediately.
