  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the ground beef, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Cook for about 10 minutes until the beef is browned, stirring frequently. Drain excess liquid.
  2. Stir in chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper. Combine well.
  3. Lower the heat and cover the saucepan. Let it simmer on low for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. After an hour, add the rinsed pinto beans and salt. Stir thoroughly and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
