- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg

- 2 jars maraschino cherries (10 ounces each)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan by greasing it.
- In a medium bowl, mix together granulated sugar, milk, canola oil, egg, and almond extract until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Drain and chop the maraschino cherries; fold them into the batter.
- Pour into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, reserved cherry juice, and almond extract until smooth. Spread over cooled bread.
