- 1 pound turkey bacon
- 1 tablespoon tallow or turkey bacon grease
- 1 pound boneless sirloin (cut into bite-sized chunks)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups beef broth (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- Kosher salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Cook the turkey bacon until crispy; set aside and reserve some for garnish.
- Preheat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add tallow or turkey bacon grease.
- Sear the sirloin chunks for 2-3 minutes per side until browned; remove from pot.
- In the same pot, cook ground beef with optional spices for about 15 minutes until browned.
- Return seared sirloin to the pot and stir in beef broth.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes.
- Crumble the cooked turkey bacon into the chili, reserving some for topping.
- Season with salt to taste before serving.
